Gorenje congratulates for excellent handball and ski jumping achievements

Last weekend, we saw an abundance of sports achievements that once again took Slovenia's name around the world. Gorenje congratulates to the Slovenian Handball Team for their fourth place in the  World Men's Handball Championship in Spain, and to Robert Kranjec for his gold medal, and Jurij Tepeš and Peter Prevc for their fifth place in the World Cup event on the Vikersund hill.

Entire Slovenia, along with Gorenje, proud of the handball team

Last Saturday, on January 26, Slovenia ranked fourth in the World Men's Handball Championship in Spain after reaching the semi finals and thus taking Slovenian team handball to a historical high. This achievement is a step forward from last year's sixth place in the European Championship in Serbia. Slovenia won seven consecutive matches in Spain before losing in the semi-finals and in the third-place match.

Gorenje has supported the Slovenian handball team for seven years as the platinum sponsor of the Slovenian Handball Association. As the general sponsor of the Gorenje Velenje handball club for 21 years, Gorenje also extends congratulations to the Gorenje Velenje players who were a part of the Slovenian roster in Spain: Matej Gaber, Jure Dolenec, and Marko Bezjak.

Robert Kranjec wins in Vikersund

Last weekend, Robert Kranjec was a Slovenian hero too as he took the third and first place in two consecutive competitions in Vikersund. Slovenian success was extended by Jurij Tepeš and Peter Prevc who shared the fifth place.

Robert Kranjec grew very fond of the Norwegian giant hill last year when he was crowned ski flying world champion there. Now, he has proven once again that he is in top form and focused on further success. Excellent work of Slovenian ski jumpers was also made evident by our junior team: in Liberec, Czech Republic, Jaka Hvala became the junior world champion. He also won the gold medal as a part of the Slovenian team in the team event. As he returns to the top flight, Slovenia will be even stronger in the next World Cup event scheduled for this weekend, February 2 and 3 in Harrachov, Czech Republic.

In eager anticipation of further success, Gorenje proudly congratulates all athletes for their triumphs.
