Gorenje Wins Four Innovation Awards

At the InCo 2009 innovation communication conference that took place on April 15th at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, awards and prizes were presented for innovation journalism in general media, internal media, and school magazines; in addition, this year's conference, third in a row, introduced the innovation communication awards. Gorenje's count of awards totalled at four.

One award was presented to Gorenje President and CEO Mr. Franjo Bobinac for his contribution on Gorenje's innovation-led and inspired strategic policies and on his view of the importance of innovation and innovativeness. The contribution was published in the Delo daily paper in September last year.

Ranked among the best contributions reporting on innovations, innovation processes, innovators, and innovative stories, published in internal media, were two contributions by Mrs. Vesna Petkovšek published in our "Pika na G" magazine. The articles comprised a comprehensive description of the development process of the new generation cooking appliances, and the way in which innovation is interwoven in every sphere and aspect of company operations. We also received a special award for taking part in the planning of innovation communication strategy. This award was presented to Mrs. Uršula Menih Dokl, head of Public Relations.

The jury that chose the winners of the innovation journalism awards included Mr. Dušan Snoj from the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, director of Vibacom Mrs. Violeta Bulc, PMBA, head of innovative publishing company Mediade Mrs. Polona Pibernik, Mr. Marko Milosavljević, PhD, of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Mrs. Lidija Honzak, PhD, of the Ljubljana University Incubator, Mr. David Nordfos, PhD, of the International Institute for Innovation Journalism at Stanford University, USA, and Mr. Jan Sandred, MSc, of the Swedish Government Agency for Innovation Systems VINNOVA.
