The First Mora Trade Show in the Books

On October 21st and 22nd, the first in-house trade fair called Mora Trade Show 2010 took place in Mariánski Údolí, Czech Republic at Gorenje's cooking appliance plant. The event hosted business partners and reporters from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Russia where the Mora brand is present and most firmly established.

About 150 business partners and reporters attended the trade show, witnessing a presentation of the comprehensive offer of Mora products for the kitchen: cookers, ovens, cooking hobs, microwave ovens, kitchen hoods, refrigerators, and dishwashers. In addition, the company management presented company operations and performance, investments, and development policies.

Mora Moravia, formerly the largest Czech cooking appliance manufacturer with 185 years of tradition, has been a member of the Gorenje Group since 2005. Most Mora appliances are sold in the Czech market where the brand has a 40-percent market share, followed by Slovakia, Hungary, Russia, Poland, and Ukraine. Free standing cookers (gas, electric, and combined) take the major share in production output, followed by cooking hobs and gas radiators.

Mr. Vítězslav Růžička, Executive Director of Sales, Human Resources, and General Affairs, presented the company, its history, the Mora brand, and company development policies, and revealed the plans to generate EUR 46 million of sales in this year: "Aided by Gorenje, we improved our production technology, infrastructure, and appliances, as well as energy efficiency, environment protection standards, and occupational safety and health in the last five years. All this had a notable impact on the existence and development of the company in Mariánski Údolí." The plant has been in a continuous process of updating since the takeover. In five years, Gorenje invested EUR 8.5 million into technological improvement and development of products in design in the last five years. Next year, production of kitchen hoods will be launched at Mora Moravia; the first products are expected already in January. Moreover, the activities in environment protection, improvement of energy efficiency, and business process optimization will also be carried on the 2011.
