On the 26th June 2008 Gorenje opened a new distribution centre in a city Stožok in Slovakia, which is positioned 220 kilometres east from Slovakian main capital Bratislava. Main reasons for investment valued 2,7 million Euros are sales expansion in Slovakia and high rent costs of warehouse capacities.

Last weekend the 22nd international FIS continental cup ski-jumping summer 2008 happend. On Saturday, 5th of July, German Pascal Bodmer won the challenge for 12th Gorenje Cup.

Gorenje responded to the invitation to take part in a slovenian humanitarian TV show called Catch the Dream produced by TV Pika. Kočevje-based humanitarian organization Marjetica which helps many socially deprived families.
